Time tracking

Time can be recorded live with a timer, or entered afterwards.

Methods

• Timer — started and stopped by the builder as they work.
• Builder backfill — entered by the builder after the fact.
• Admin backfill — entered on their behalf.

The method is recorded alongside the hours, so backfilled time is distinguishable from tracked time when reviewing.

Estimated against actual

Each task carries estimated hours, used for capacity planning, and accumulates actual hours as work is logged. Capacity planning uses estimates — actuals tell you how good the estimates were.

Persistent divergence between the two is worth acting on: it means capacity planning is working from the wrong numbers.

Work evidence

Photos can be attached to tasks as a record of completed work, which is useful for remote or outsourced builders where nobody sees the piece in person.
